A number is clearly indicated on each and every parking space. If a driver parks in a forbidden area or outside the indicated parking space, he commits an offence under Act No. 13/1997 Coll. and the car will be towed away. The towing service will take the car to a holding yard in Prague 6, K Letišti street, behind the Prague Airport building. The towing of the car is reported to the central database of the Police of the Czech Republic and to the Prague 6 – Airport department of the Police of the Czech Republic. Towed cars are returned on a non-stop basis after presenting the following documents:
- Identification (citizen identification card, passport, or other incontestable document)
- Certificate of roadworthiness of the car
A fee is charged for the towing. This fee is determined by the decree of the Municipality of the Capital City of Prague. It is possible to pay in cash or by credit card. The towing service employees -- who have at their disposal a hydraulic arm, equipment for towing vehicles from low-clearance areas, and a special vehicle with a tipping platform designated mainly for large freight vehicles -- document the entire towing procedure. They are trained to treat the property they are handling with utmost care.
